Participating in an auction is simple:

  2. Attend the pre-sales exhibitions. You are welcome to attend all the pre-sale exhibitions in order to view the lots in person.   3. Take part in the auction:
    You are welcome to participate in the auction in any of the following three modalities:
    In person: You will be able to attend the auction in person at a time and place previously designated. Once there, you will be asked to register and will be provided with a bidding number. You will then be able to bid on the lot of your choice; if your bid is the highest, you will be the proud new owner of your chosen article!
    Absentee Bids: Please get in touch with us via telephone so our Absentee Bids department can register your information, as well as the bids you will be making for the lot you are interested in. During the auction, Morton personnel will bid on your behalf in the auction room. Alternatively, you may request to receive a phone call once the bidding starts on the lot you are interested in, and you can personally bid via phone.
    Online: By clicking on you will be able to browse through all of our upcoming auctions. Once you have identified the one you are interested in, click on “join online”. This will redirect you to Bidsquare, where you will be able to register for an account free of charge, using an email address and a password of your choosing. Once you’ve created an account, you will be able to register for the auction, and will be notified if your registration is successful; if you run into difficulties, please contact Morton personnel in order to receive assistance.

Once your registration is complete, you may start bidding whenever you choose with a simple click, or simply follow along by watching and listening to the livestream video and audio.

Buyer's Premium

An additional 20% will be added to the final price of the lot as part of the Buyer’s Premium, which includes the sales commission as well as a 16% tax. If the sale was completed via Bidsquare, the Buyer’s Premium will amount to 23%, which will then be added to the final price of the purchased article.
